Under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) you have rights over the personal information we hold about you. This page explains them and how to use them.

Your rights

• See your information: ask whether we hold personal information about you, and for a copy of it.
• Correct or delete it: ask us to correct information that is wrong, out of date or incomplete, or to delete information we no longer have a reason to keep.
• Object: object to us using your information, including for direct marketing.
• Withdraw consent: where we rely on your consent, withdraw it at any time. This does not affect what we did before.
• Complain: complain to the Information Regulator.

How to make a request

Email [email protected] with “Privacy request” in the subject line. Our Information Officer, [name to be confirmed], handles every request. Please tell us:

• your name and how to contact you;
• what you would like us to do;
• which information it is about, for example an enquiry you sent, your account, a listing or an agent profile.

We may ask you to confirm your identity before we act, so that we never give your information to someone else. We aim to reply within 30 days.

Estate agents and agencies

If your details appear on PropertyNow, you can ask us at any time to update them or to remove your profile and listings.

Newsletters

Every newsletter has an unsubscribe link. You can also email us and we will take you off the list.

The Information Regulator

If you are not happy with how we handle your information or your request, you can complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa) at inforegulator.org.za.
